Re: Johnny Rockets Returns To Retro Diner Roots As It Joins FAT Brands
Ruby's seemed to do a pretty good job with the decor, but I wasn't all that impressed with the food at the one that used to be in Redmond WA. I've only eaten at Johnny Rockets a few times and the food seemed better, but in either case I'd probably go with Red Robin over either one. If I want diner food I'd probably go to one of the actual places that's been around since that era (a couple that come to mind are the Totem Diner in Everett and Lil Jon in Bellevue.) They are more in the mid century modern category than the neon diner one, bu both are still going strong. There's also the drive-in Burgermaster locations, several of which hail from that era as well.

Palm Springs closed in I think 2015 or 2016?
San Diego I'm not sure when.
So there are only 4 left?
Re: Johnny Rockets Returns To Retro Diner Roots As It Joins FAT Brands
There are 15 currently.
Chicago
Clearwater
Denver
Houston
Jacksonville
Kansas City
Las Vegas
Long beach
Milwaukee
Ontario
Orlando
St Louis
San Francisco
Toledo
West Hollywood
To be fair they are not a chain in the traditional sense. They all have the same name and theme but are operated independently.
