omnicapital has announced plans for renovations to the dying manchester center in fresno. the only anchor tenant left is a sears and the renovations may be too little, too late with a lot of low income neighborhoods around the mall. they could run into difficulty bringing in tenants with the crime in the area.

I was taken to that mall about 4 years ago by someone who had lived in Fresno and it was a few of us and we were asking her why she took us there... the place was dead and did not feel safe at all. There were virtually no chain stores left. The Red Robin looked like it had just converted to some independent restaurant. The parking lot was poorly lit and it was getting dark outside. There was, frankly, absolutely no reason for us to be there and nothing for us to see there. We did not stay long.

Fresno had some better retail areas like River Park, etc. Fresno actually gets a bad rap but has a good number of nice areas and good restaurants.
