Lidl (limited assortment/discount grocery) and Food Lion (supermarket) are grocery stores in different grocery retail segments. Food Lion has been a sinking ship for years, does not have many stores of value, and had the most stores divested from the Ahold-Delhaize merger.

Considering Virginia, Maryland, and the District of Columbia, you have Kroger's Kroger Mid-Atlantic and Harris Teeter divisions and Ahold Delhaize's Food Lion, Giant-Carlisle/Martin's, and Giant-Landover divisions. I do not project Food Lion to be around unless it underwent significant positive changes. Would Kroger want to keep unionized stores (Giant-Landover, Kroger Mid-Atlantic) separate from non-union stores (Giant-Carlisle/Martin's, Harris Teeter)?
