CVS has recalled a line of green reusable bags due to elevated levels of lead. The CVS 99 cent reusable green-colored bags have lead levels above 100 parts per million. You can return the tainted bags for a refund.
The chain continues to offer other reusable bags with no lead content or content below 100 parts per million.
I prefer my bags unleaded.

Re: CVS Recalls Lead Tainted Bags
The funny part is these bags were a use 4 times and get a $1 Extra Buck deal. It is my understanding that program will soon be going away due to abuse. What works out to essentially a 0.25 credit for a reusable bag in a store where many customers just buy one item and don't take a bag seems like a bit much.

Re: CVS Recalls Lead Tainted Bags
That program was created to save CVS the cost of plastic bags and to encourage customers to shop at CVS with their reusable CVS bag as opposed to other stores.
