I paid a visit to the Shopko in Lacey today. The store mostly was still pretty well stocked (the exception being electronics where ALL music and DVDs were completely cleared out), but also not very busy considering the store is closing. I am not sure if the shelf prices (which seemed a bit high) were regular prices, or if they were raised for the liquidation.
I did find it interesting though that the Pharmacy was already closed with a sign directing people to the nearby Fred Meyer, but Optical still looked to be business as usual.

Re: Shopko files for bankruptcy
Part of Shopko's current strategy is to open some freestanding optical centers...
Odd to have pharmacy but not optical.
I think they closed the optical centers in Reno about six months before they closed the stores. Pharmacy closed mid-way through the liquidation sales.
Shopko owns an optical plant. I remember buying some of my first pairs of glasses there. Then I found Zenni when I was in college (and Shopko was gone and it seemed all that was left were various optical places run by Luxottica who wanted $250+ for simple glasses) and that was a much cheaper alternative.

Re: Shopko files for bankruptcy
And the store closing list has grown again.
https://kval.com/news/local/shopko-to-c ... g-in-april
The closing list also includes Pocatello, Twin Falls, Redding, Union Gap, Basically all the stores left in WA, OR, CA.

Still no word on the Boise distribution center, but now it almost looks like a given that it will also close.

Re: Shopko files for bankruptcy
As expected: distribution centers in Omaha and Boise are closing:

Something I did not know was that Shopko outsourced its distribution in 2016.
