The article does not do a very good job of differentiating between the franchisee (Elite Business Enterprises) and The Habit itself. Looking at the Elite Business Enterprises website, it looks like they are not an approved franchisee of The Habit. Wonder why? :o

Those people who ran those awful Popeye's restaurants have no business running another group of restaurants of any kind.

Habit is a chain that has high standards, and they will not want anything to tarnish their image.

I was really surprised when I heard they got a Habit franchise. I thought maybe Habits are easier to run than a Popeyes and perhaps it could work out. It will be interesting to see what happens.

The Popeyes reviews for locations run by NorCal Cajun (or "Elite") are truly awful.

And no, it doesn't get any better in NorCal:

Even right by their HQ in Concord...

I would venture to guess that The Habit is harder to run because they have pretty tight quality standards. Not being a fan of burger chains, I've eaten at a couple for Habit locations (San Diego Sorts Arena, Phoenix McDowell Rd, and one up in Orange County, CA) and all three were very good. The food was much better quality than I thought it would be. They probably have stringent financial standards, so guessing that defaulting on a lease became a disqualifier.

It appears the NorCal Cajun group (also known as "Elite") is not following through with plans to build a Popeyes and Habit in Spokane, WA.

Reviews for the Concord Popeyes right by their HQ are laughably bad. And what is with the signs saying no modifications to sandwiches and to show ID when using credit/debit cards someone posted from just this week? It appears they have chip readers and customer facing pinpads. Absolutely zero reason to be doing that at this point. People are complaining about speed of service. This outfit is really clueless.

The Concord store is truly the scariest fast food restaurant around. This was where there was almost a riot inside after customers complained about the wait time. The employees constantly make mistakes, premake soggy sandwiches, and just walk away when people complain. You come here to get incorrect orders, old food, and awful customer service. Wait times can be up to an hour. Be ready for the extreme attitudes and the potential brawl. Not kidding.
