Publix already has two stores soon to open in South Carolina in Tega Cay(Ft. Mill) and Indian Land just outside Charlotte. Now the first store in North Carolina has been announced in the Ballantyne neighborhood of Charlotte. Things could get interesting for Harris-Teeter which just completed a store swap with Lowes Foods in anticipation of Publix making a foreray into Metrolina.

Today Publix opens in Tega Cay(FtMill) and Indian Land, both in the SC side of Metrolina.
