Attention RetailWatchers Members: A Firm Reminder About Forum Conduct Lately, I’ve noticed a troubling increase in posts that stray from the fundamental values we uphold here at RetailWatchers. This forum was created to foster constructive, informative, and respectful discussion about the retail industry in the US, Canada, and more recently Internationally. Unfortunately, some recent posts have violated this mission, and it's time to re-emphasize the rules that make this community work. Let me be absolutely clear on the following points: 1. Keep Discussions Non-Political This is not a political forum. While retail news sometimes intersects with laws or policies, we do not discuss politics here. You are welcome to share news about new legislation or industry regulations, but keep your commentary strictly factual and on-topic. There is zero tolerance for injecting personal political views, name-calling, or spin of any kind. 2. No Derogatory or Abusive Language Respect for fellow members is non-negotiable. I will not tolerate: • Rude or abusive comments aimed at other users. • Derogatory remarks related to race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, political affiliation, economic status, or geographic location. • Bashing of any individual or organization without constructive discussion. This forum is a place for thoughtful exchange. Disagreeing with someone’s point is fine, but it must be done in a civil and respectful manner. Violate this rule, and you’ll be banned without further warning. 3. Stay on Topic Every post should contribute something relevant to the discussion at hand. Irrelevant “me too” posts, off-topic commentary, or vague contributions that don't add value to the conversation will be removed. If you don’t have something useful to say, take a moment to reconsider before posting. 4. Consequences for Rule Violations I am not interested in issuing multiple warnings. Breaking these rules will result in your post being deleted, and repeated violations will get you banned from this forum. This community thrives when everyone follows the rules, and I expect each of you to respect them. If you notice a post violating the rules, please use the forum's built-in reporting tool, and it will be addressed as soon as possible. RetailWatchers is a place for professional and respectful discussions on retail news. If this isn’t the space for you, then there are plenty of other forums to explore. Let’s work together to keep this community informative, civil, and welcoming to all. Thank you for your cooperation. |
⚠️[UPDATED!]⚠️ Please re-orient yourselves with the rules
