Thread star ratings

Post by Super S »

I am starting to see random star ratings appearing under a few threads. I am just curious where these ratings are coming from, because I don't see a place to rate anything this way on my end.

I tend to post things based on what I see or read about. Sometimes they get responses, sometimes they don't. I am concerned about the potential of not being able to post based on these ratings.

The "ratings" are a feature of the new "thanks" button. It looks like a thumbs-up icon in the upper-right of a post.

I might get rid of "ratings" and keep the "thanks" button though. I haven't decided yet. In either case, a person's ability to post will only be judged based on prohibited content per the forum rules, never by a rating.

I'm going to get rid of the rating stars, the ratings are just too confusing. "Thanks" remain though!

I will agree they were confusing, mainly due to how they were randomly appearing.

The star ratings appear to have returned during the latest update.

Looks like it was re-enabled when I re-installed updated extensions (it's part of the "thanks" plugin). I've disabled it again.

With this update it seems to me as if the site header is broken. The logo only shows up through a smaller thumbnail and the default title text appears to the right.

I have also noticed this.

When he updated phpBB it defaulted to the default header which has a different layout and standard size for the header graphic. That is why it is cutting off part of the logo. I'm pretty sure he knows that already and is probably too busy to deal with it right now. It's a pretty minor problem.

I’m sorry guys, but yes it’s known. When I did the last board upgrade, I had to do a complete reinstall of the site code, and many of my CSS customizations were reset.

My job has me traveling... a lot. Below is a snippet of the flights I’ve been on for the past month and a half alone. I’m hoping I have some time coming up soon where I can sit back and finish those tweaks. Thanks for everyone’s patience!
