In a place with grocery wholesalers available to support single store independents this could have probably worked out. Unfortunately the available options in NorCal seem to leave the single store independent completely on their own with no pricing help, no ad program, not even a way to get private label milk with a dairy load (have to go find an outside vendor for that).
