Cici's Pizza Offering $4.99 Unlimited Pizza Buffet

Post by Alpha8472 »

On Mondays and Tuesdays they are offering an unlimited Pizza Buffet for $4.99 until November 1.

You get pizza, salad bar, sides, and dessert. You have to show the coupon on your mobile phone or get it from their website.

I am shocked that Cici's is still around.

I am confused by the terms of the offer-

COUPON IS NOT VALID IF PRINTED ...

What?

I get wanting to be paperless but... would they seriously reject it if someone printed it out?

I think that Cici's wants to reject paper coupons to fight fraud. The customer must show that the coupon is on the official website and is authentic. There may be a corporate policy on paper coupons.

I guess this type of operation has to think about this type of thing. It tends to be a lower end sort of place. Perhaps this is to prohibit people from standing outside and "selling" coupons to people as they walk in.

On the other side, at some chains some franchisees outright refuse a mobile coupon (unless it can be scanned/has a unique code/can only be used once) because they want to keep a copy of the paper coupon as proof of why a discount was given. I don't see that much anymore. That is a big thing in casino food service operations, to do a receipt reprint and staple the coupon/comp to that reprint.
