Stoneridge Mall Parking Lot Converting To Condos

Post by Alpha8472 »

This mall in Pleasanton, California has not been doing so well recently. It is an affluent upper middle class area. It used to do very well up until a few years ago when Sears and Nordstrom closed. Macy's and JCPenney are the last anchors. Plans for a cinema and restaurants failed.

Now a portion of the parking lot will be bulldozed for condominiums.

This shopping center used to do well since it had its own train station right next to it. After the pandemic, no one wants to travel by train. This mall has lost a significant amount of business.

However, condominiums sit empty in the San Francisco Bay Area. Many people are shunning condos for full sized houses with big backyards.

These condominiums are going to be empty and contribute to the empty and abandoned feel of the area. The abandoned Sears and Nordstrom are eyesore.
