Three different McDonald's franchisees that operate restaurants in Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland and Ohio have been fined a total of $212,754 by the US Department of Labor after an investigation found a large number of child labor violations, mostly in the Cincinnati and Louisville areas. Between the three operators 305 minors under the age of 15 were found to have worked more hours than legally permitted. In one particularly egregious example, a McDonald's in Louisville KY was found to have two 10 year olds working unpaid (including operating a deep fryer) sometimes as late as 2am.

Re: McDonald's franchisees caught violating child labor laws
I would have really enjoyed working at McDonalds as a 10 year old. 2 AM would have been a bit late for me back then, but I could have made Midnight. That would have been a lot of fun.
Too bad it is illegal.
Do the kids get the $212,754 fine?
