Sears Union Gap, WA reopening November 6

Post by storewanderer »

Maybe they need to reopen more stores so they can then close more stores. The business model over the past 20 years seems to depend on a slow ongoing stream of store closures? Then they realized in mid 2023 they almost had none left to close.

That's it! We've figured it out! They needed to replenish the base of stores to close!

It will be interesting to see how long these stay open or if any other stores close in the mean time.

We also don't know if they are doing any local level marketing, etc. to support these reopenings. They are making some efforts on Facebook posts, etc. so there is at least some degree of effort even if that is just free postings done by the store employees to a store Facebook page to deliver the message that the stores have reopened.
