I'm pretty sure Jewel is using uniform pricing at this point (at least in a specific geographic area) and just tinkering a little bit with sales on a store by store level. I tested this by using the 87th street store, located in a significantly lower income area, and it had identical pricing to the others. Mariano's prices are more in line with the Smith's prices, typically about 5-10% lower than Jewel, sometimes more.
It's good to hear pricing has been made uniform. It was frustrating, to say the least. That said, the website could have a uniform price but in-store pricing could be different. I'll check my local Safeways to see whether the in-store pricing matches the online pricing.

Has the 2485 Howard store been remodeled out of the 2014 vintage decor package? While not as dreadful as some of the other decor Albertsons has rolled out, it isn't as nice as the famed Jewel interior which, to the best of my knowledge, debuted there in 1996/97.

In store pricing matches online pricing, now. With Safeway, it did not; Safeway gladly charged a higher price for every item online.

Albertsons changed that practice a number of years ago and the prices are the same online as in store. This was another positive change Albertsons made to the highly customer unfriendly Safeway way of doing things.

The only thing I've noticed is sometimes when they have price changes, the online price changes a day sooner than the in-store price. This isn't for sale pricing (that changes per the ad dates), but for when there are price changes on regular price items.

The 2485 store unfortunately does still have that decor package, with some unique elements for the large Kosher areas in the store. I think that store has been somewhat damaged by the opening up of a Jewel in the former Dominick's at 1763 Howard but it still is clearly a very profitable store and one of the very few 24/7 Jewel stores left.

It is unfortunate the store still has that decor package. However, it's only recently that Jewel has introduced the Pavilions-like decor. The first was Division and Clark, which replaced the very old store located on the same site. That store received the actual Pavilions package at the same time as a handful of Safeways that were considered "premium" stores. The new store in Diamond, IL is the first one I've seen since. If you look closely, you can see a few differences. "The Patisserie" is called "Fresh Bakery" and the delicatessen (lower-case "deli" and script "catessen" is called "deli" spelled in lower-case letters. Personally, I'd like to see the return of "Chef's Kitchen," but that's just me.

All I'm going to say is that 2014 Jewel decor- at least- is very much marketing Jewel. I don't like that script type font they use. But I seem to have that complaint about other decor packages of that era too (the Kroger/Fred Meyer package).

These current decors are completely generic. They completely downplay the local banner.
