The Sears in Concord, California is now open until 9 PM. I am shocked. It used to close at 6 PM. It must do some business being the only one in the entire San Francisco Bay Area.

I don’t understand what is happening to the Kenmore brand.

For a while now, the floor care appliances have been one (the only item) of that brand I’ve seen selling through other retailers. In fact most of them - Walmart, Lowes, Home Depot and Target sell them on their websites. They’ve
also been sold on infomercials, and even IN Target in some cases.

I was told the colors were different so it would be known if they were sold in Sears/Kmart or another retailer.

I wondered if this was done for Sears to try to make the Kenmore sales look higher to sell the brand.

But recently I saw both a Kenmore freezer and French door refrigerator for sale IN Lowes.

If I was speculating I was thinking Lowes having now selling Craftsman might also want the Kenmore brand.

I think at one point Amazon may have been or was supposed to be selling Kenmore appliances, maybe that was speculation though.

There is a Kenmore Store on Amazon. It is selling various appliances like refrigerators/freezers that say ships from Amazon.com and sold by Amazon.com. Not clear who is handling these items from a brand management perspective at this point.

Supposedly Sears vacated from the Hoffman Estates HQ earlier this month and moved into new offices in Chicago. I guess the new office in Chicago is managing this brand?

This thread should be closed, as we move into 2023.
What has happened in 2022:
All but 3 Kmarts in the mainland US have been closed.
Sears appliance business is being put out of its misery as we speak. So is Sears Hometown.
I'm starting a new thread for 2023. This coming year might be the end...
