New Seasons announces a "flattening of the executive leadership structure", aka terminating the CEO and not backfilling the position. The press release also states Sunnyvale will close after less than a year open, but Aptos will continue as planned and open this Fall.

Re: New Seasons Shifts Strategy
I was never too impressed with New Seasons, but they seem to be the inspiration for everything Fred Meyer is doing wrong the past few years. New Seasons along with a few other similar chains have also kept Whole Foods in a fairly weakened position in the Pacific Northwest, compared to, say, California. So my assumption is New Seasons has had a pretty severe competitive impact on Fred Meyer.

It's because of New Seasons that Natural Choice departments in many Fred Meyer stores has been greatly expanded.storewanderer wrote: ↑February 6th, 2018, 9:13 pm I was never too impressed with New Seasons, but they seem to be the inspiration for everything Fred Meyer is doing wrong the past few years. Re: New Seasons Shifts Strategy
I don't mind that element, that is a positive. I mind the element of cutting out non food the way they have in certain locations. That and some of the attitude they display, like they are trying to be a want to be New Seasons, but missing the mark...babs wrote: ↑February 7th, 2018, 8:28 amIt's because of New Seasons that Natural Choice departments in many Fred Meyer stores has been greatly expanded.storewanderer wrote: ↑February 6th, 2018, 9:13 pm I was never too impressed with New Seasons, but they seem to be the inspiration for everything Fred Meyer is doing wrong the past few years. "Aptos Village is an 11.5 acre mixed-use, town center development comprised of nearly 70,000 square feet of commercial space including a New Leaf Community Market and 69 new homes. The 17,500 square feet store, expected to open in 2018, will be New Leaf’s eighth location, including six in Santa Cruz County...The new store will be housed in the relocated, historic Hihn Apple Barn to serve as the anchor for the Aptos Village Project."
