Southeastern Grocers: 2020

Southeastern Grocers is starting 2020 with one store opening and two stores closing.
Store opening
- Winn-Dixie #108, Gateway Shopping Center, 5210 Norwood Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32208-5036
- Winn-Dixie #108 is opening Wednesday, 12 February.
- The store was previously Publix #731. Publix #731 closed Saturday, 28 December 2019, after 20 years of operation. Its closure was caused by performance issues and an expiring lease.
Stores closing (by or on Monday, 3 February)
- Winn-Dixie #463 (Pharmacy), Promenade Montgomery, 2730 Eastern Boulevard, Montgomery, Alabama 36117-1550
- BI-LO #5421, 511 Smoky Park Highway, Candler, North Carolina 28715-8613

Winn-Dixie #2446 (Pharmacy) and
Winn-Dixie (Liquor Store) #2447, 7489 Fourth Street North, Saint Petersburg, Florida 33702-5407, are closing on or before Monday, 10 February 2020.

I can't believe they are taking a few Lucky's Market locations. It seems like the stores would be too small for them.
I guess they still have a little something left if they are interested in adding stores...

Either Southeastern Grocers wants to try another banner, or it will be operating smaller prototypes of Winn-Dixie, Harvey's Supermarket, or Fresco y Más. It will not deter additional stores closing.

They are still hanging on in North Carolina. I think we all thought they would be out by. now

BI-LO's exit from North Carolina could be occurring gradually.

Winn-Dixie #108, Gateway Shopping Center, 5210 Norwood Avenue, Jacksonville, Florida 32208-5036, opened today. It replaces Pubix #731. Publix #731 closed Saturday, 28 December 2019, after a 20-year run.
