Retail Watchers

I can't remember which chain, but several years ago, my parents had a prescription for an out of stock drug and the pharmacist called around to other stores to see if any of them had it in stock. They even went so far as to call other chain drug stores and I can't recall if they got it from another chain or they may have even sent them right to a competitor's store. I thought that was going above and beyond but then again we also had a lot more chains in the marketplace than today so they had to be more responsive to customers.
