Louie Vuitton Store Robbed By Multiple People

Post by Alpha8472 »

Their store in San Francisco's Union Square was robbed by a massive group of people who arrived in an armada of cars. The store was totally emptied out.

The city is now planning to limit street access to the store. Most customers of this store already walk to the store. There is limited street parking. It is a heavy tourist and pedestrian area with many hotels.

Bloomingdale's inside of the San Francisco Centre Mall was also hit. They should close off the doors leading straight to the street.

Police say video footage indicates that many of the thieves were known by the Police. They have committed crimes like this before.

The perpetrators are pushing out into more suburban areas now in the east bay. 25 cars blocked the street in front of a Nordstrom in Walnut Creek, used crow bars and did a smash and grab of luxury items. It will be interesting to see if there is any police investigation in that city.

I have heard the police are on it and also they are employing mitigation tactics to ensure it does not happen again.

Specifically I have heard during certain hours of the day/night they will not be allowing vehicles into the Union Square area. I have no idea how that will work.

Also I have seen photos showing various retailers boarding up their stores in Union Square to make it more difficult for this to happen going forward.

What a great series of events to take place right before Thanksgiving weekend which should be one of the busiest for Union Square.

There have been multiple other incidents elsewhere in the bay area as well. Also there have been some pharmacy robberies. Local bay area news stations have done a great job covering this. It is not getting picked up in the national news.

The worst part of San Francisco is crossing the streets. The drivers are aggressive and there are many pedestrian fatalities. A shopping area without cars is much more relaxing.

Walnut Creek's outdoor mall, Broadway Plaza, has always had streets running through the shopping center. Crossing the street was so stressful as drivers were all out of control. Banning cars will make the area much more peaceful. Most people already park in the nearby garages. You do not need the street parking.

More stores should seal off more of the windows and glass doors. Too many glass doors just invite robberies. They could have some display windows, but glass windows leading inside should be blocked off. The street level should be secured with steel doors and concrete barriers.

Most pharmacies now have time delay safes. The narcotic medications are locked up. If you need them it takes 10 to 15 minutes to get access. The pharmacy chains want to keep their drugs from being stolen. The stores may get held up and the robbers may shoot the employees, but they still have to wait 15 minutes to get access. In the meantime, the silent alarms have gone off and the police are waiting. The drugs are safe, but employees are expendable. It is just what the pharmacy chains care about.

They have caught some suspects and have charged them with felonies. Even the District Attorney is saying that these thieves should be prosecuted. He is changing his stance to being tough on robberies now since he is danger of being recalled. Many local District Attorneys are now working together to prosecute these organized theft rings. Finally, we may see some changes and results.
