Walgreens Decides Not To Sell Boots

Walgreens it will not sell the U.K. chain Boots. The market has frightened away potential buyers. It might have brought in 6 billion dollars if Boots were sold.

With the higher Interest rates we are going to see the deal environment get a lot tougher.

Not sure what this means for Walgreens though. It seemed like they needed to unload Boots. Keeping it probably won't help their situation much.

Maybe WAG could begin restocking their half-empty stores., which is common in Phoenix (except for the Sun City stores-which are well stocked and still have full liquor depts)

They need to reconsider their "simple store" program. For some stores that were low volume and made "simple stores" when they did that initiative, the competitive landscape has changed and the stores actually have a lot more business than before and should have their mix expanded.

Conversely there are also stores that used to be higher volume that aren't so high volume anymore and may be suited to be converted to "simple stores."
