7-Eleven Credit Card Skimmer

Post by Alpha8472 »

A credit card skimmer was found inside a 7-Eleven store at a Chevron station in Sunnyvale, California. The skimmer was a fake pin pad on top of the credit card reader machine.

This is getting to be a more common tactic lately as the skimmers have been largely put out of commission with the Chip cards.

Some retailers have started to put what looks like a large button that pops up somewhere on the pinpad. Specifically I have seen this done at Speedway and seen this done at WinCo Foods, among other places. The objective of this button is to make it so you cannot put a fake pin pad on top of the real pinpad.
