Their decision to close a store in West Hollywood, which was very high volume, is evidence. Discussions of franchise or corporate stores are irrelevant. Starbucks will continue to close stores they fell the city will not keep safe for employees,
I disagree and that is not true.

"Contacted the West Hollywood’s Sheriff station to inquire about the accuracy of the statistics. The response the station sent was:

“It is difficult to determine how this group arrived at their findings. They may have used a formula which is not used in law enforcement or endorsed by the FBI when looking at crime. For the City of West Hollywood, the number of Part 1 Crimes for February 2020, compared to February 2019, was down 32%. The number of Part 2 Crimes from February 2021, compared to February 2020, was down an additional 21%.”

There has been a recent uptick but nothing that would necessitate using crime as a reason to close a Starbucks in West Hollywood.

To be fair they are a private business and if they want to close a specific location for any reason that is certainly their right. But most companies will not close a very busy location unless there is some kind of a reason.

The problem is, and I am referring broadly here and not just to any specific business or sector, is things get a little shady when you hear of sudden closures of busy locations or busy plants that appear to have union organizing activities occurring, stating the closure is for vague reasons like "plumbing problems" or "safety."
