Popeye's is doing an online or app deal of 5 pieces of chicken for $6.99.
This seems like a better deal than the other competing chains.

Re: Popeye's Operations
For $3 more you get two biscuits and sides with the $10 'feed two' deal.
Popeye's 'menu prices' always seemed absurdly high to me...I'm always using an App deal when I order.

Re: Popeye's Operations
They didn't used to be that way. Popeyes core locations tended to be in neighborhoods that weren't the best and needed lower pricing to be affordable in their locations. These price increases seem to have happened in the past 5 or so years as the chain expanded outside into "better" neighborhoods with different franchisees. Some franchisees do not have those absurdly high prices but I notice many do.

Popeye's is offering the Big Box Meal for $5 online via app or website for Fall 2022: 2 pieces of fried chicken, 2 regular sides, and a biscuit.

Re: Popeye's Operations
In the past they usually offer 3 piece tenders for the same price, but not this time around

Re: Popeye's Operations
Those tenders seem to have turned into gold.
There has been a 4 Shrimp/2 Tender/1 Side/1 Biscuit $6 item in the app for a while. Not a great value as portions on shrimp and side are small but an entry level offer. Also I think the biscuit has gotten smaller.
Re: Popeye's Operations
Fried chicken strips are so expensive everywhere now. Jack In the Box in the San Francisco Bay Area has 4 strips for $6.39. Or 6 strips for $8.39.

Re: Popeye's Operations
I don't understand chicken strip pricing. A chicken sandwich patty is basically the same thing as chicken strips. I think there is more chicken in a KFC Sandwich (4.49-4.99 here) than in 3 strips yet the sandwich costs about $2 less than 3 strips alone would cost.
Popeyes in Reno still has strips at 1.49 each (alone) but it seems to be a price error. Their button for 1 strip comes up 1.49. Their button for 2 strips comes up 4.59. Their button for 3 strips comes up 5.69 (yet the 3 strip dinner with side/drink is only 6.69).

Popeye's has a new blackened chicken sandwich. It is marinated and fried with no breading.
