The store held a 2 day strike for Christmas on the 23rd and 24th. They had managers and non-union employees from other stores running the store.
I am surprised that there are still some union Macy's.

Re: Macy's Union Square in San Francisco 2 Day Strike
After they moved men's into the main building I am not as impressed with this store anymore. But I suspect the store is more profitable with just a single building.
Macy's has closed many of these flagship/downtown stores.
I question why only 100 of the 400 workers were participating in the strike. Maybe the other 300 were inside working too.
The pay rates and increase being described sound like a bad joke, but Macys is not known to be a very high paying place.
This is a very important store for Union Square and the union dispute needs to be addressed. I suspect Macys has trouble staffing this store also. Union Square cannot afford to lose this store.
