This is like a bad joke. The zombie retail invasion. I wonder what liquidator is selling them clothing and such?

There's drunk dialing and drunk shopping online. Is this what drunk retail execs do for fun? At least they could have freshened up the store and used the current logo.ClownLoach wrote: ↑October 20th, 2023, 3:55 pmThis is like a bad joke. The zombie retail invasion. That is too much work! Checking the landfills for the hundreds of new logo Sears signs that have already been removed, changing out the 1997 era carpet, and all that is too hard for Sears. They're betting on nostalgia bringing in customers, kinda like a 50's Diner. Of course the prices and quality will be completely modern, along with the service level or lack thereof.babs wrote: ↑October 20th, 2023, 4:07 pmThere's drunk dialing and drunk shopping online. Re: Sears Burbank, CA reopening 10/22
I was going to make some real wise comments but I'll refrain.
From.the looks of it, they are just reopening this and it is reopening in a very similar state to the state it closed in.
I suspect there was someone lined up to take the building over but that fell through so they've decided to reopen.
It will be interesting to see how many more stores reopen.
I never liked Sears but they've provided a lot of entertainment over the years and it continues today.

Seeing some pictures over on Reddit, it looks like exactly that...they just filled the space with random whatever and a couple cheap new signs. Nothing to see here.storewanderer wrote: ↑October 21st, 2023, 9:13 am

But absent new/more merchandise this isn't what I'd call a relaunch of Sears.
The condition of the store (floors, etc.) doesn't look bad... but if you are relaunching it needs to look different than it did before.
