Kmart Guam has not made a Facebook post since late November. Previously they posted an ad basically every week.
I wonder what happened.

Only one (!) full-line Kmart in the 50 states left. Unless, the last one in NJ is still open. Did that one close?

Yes, it is gone. Just the NY one remains.BatteryMill wrote: ↑January 25th, 2024, 7:21 pm Only one (!) full-line Kmart in the 50 states left. Unless, the last one in NJ is still open. Did that one close?

The posts above yours said FULL LINE Kmart, and that one is not (since it only exists in what was once the Garden Center, thus far smaller and cannot have everything a regular store would).

Looks like I must have confused it for Avenel, which shut down in 2022.storewanderer wrote: ↑January 25th, 2024, 10:06 pmYes, it is gone. Kmart Guam's Facebook is back, although with a rather hilarious post about a huge mess made in the store.storewanderer wrote: ↑January 25th, 2024, 12:42 am Kmart Guam has not made a Facebook post since late November. Previously they posted an ad basically every week.

As with the Fort Lauderdale location, today the Palm Beach Gardens Sears has abruptly closed.

That is strange. The transformation will continue. The store will reopen with the new concept soon.BatteryMill wrote: ↑March 1st, 2024, 8:21 pm As with the Fort Lauderdale location, today the Palm Beach Gardens Sears has abruptly closed.
It is strange they omitted the opportunity to hold a store closing sale at this time, but I am confident once they go through with reopening, eventually they will close it again and can have the opportunity to hold the store closing sale at some future point.
They were just posting things on Facebook within the past few days.

Or maybe something else. Still would expect a closing sale though.

Re: Sears & Kmart 2024: Will someone please put them out of their misery?
The pictures online of Bridgehampton (the final Kmart) are..... Interesting. Looks like someone has been trying to hold the old linoleum floor together with some discount tile and a hot glue gun. Some really bad repairs and not sure if it is actually flat or not based on the pictures? I would worry about it being a tripping hazard liability. There are random mismatched signs, blue rings for some categories and red flat signs for others as if they used what's left of two different design packages to cobble together a store. The electronics department looks to have discount kids suitcases where they would have electronics. And pictures make it look like the store has been reduced in size with a gondola wall behind customer service to cut the square footage to what they can actually stock. Still appears to have some wide empty spaces on the floor. This can't be profitable or sustainable. Not sure that could be considered a full line store based on the pictures either, kinda looks like a Big Lots with some clothing and aisles of cheap kitchen electrics. Lots of handwritten sale signs not unlike a low budget liquidation. That isn't surprising because it's the Transformco specialty.
