Macy's Closing 150 Full-line Stores by 2026
Macy's plans to close 150 underperforming full-line stores throughout 2026. They then plan to upgrade the remaining 350 stores and focus more on luxury such as Bloomingdale's and BlueMercy as well as small format stores. 50 full-line Macy's stores will be closed at the end of 2024

It was also noted elsewhere that they still have multiple storefronts in about 100 malls (where they took over a space from someone else and have different departments in different areas of the mall).
Many (but not all) of those are supposed to be included, where they will simply consolidate into one space in that particular mall, meaning that half or more of the "closings" will not really mean the loss of the brand in a given location, just having it all in one spot rather than in two separate ones.
