Chick-fil-a Opening Non-Drive Thru Restaurants

Post by Alpha8472 »

Chick-fil-a seems to be opening more non-drive-thru restaurants.

I drove by a recently opened Chick-fil-a in Pleasanton, California that had no drive-thru. It was built just down the street from an existing drive-thru Chick-fil-a. Literally it is a block away.

Another Chick-fil-a with no drive-thru has just been approved in another nearby city in Walnut Creek, California. Walnut Creek already has 1 Chick-fil-a, but the cars spill onto the street blocking traffic on a major road.

Walnut Creek, California is a strange suburban city that has banned drive-thru restaurants from its downtown area and doesn't seem to like new drive-thru restaurants.

The problem is that the streets in the city were terribly designed leading to absurdly bad traffic where only a small number of main roads are handling much of the traffic.

Nob Hill Foods in this shopping center closed a few years ago. A new Safeway opened up across the street and took away much of Nob Hill's business. The shopping center has been a ghost town since then.

A non-drive-thru restaurant will encourage people to park and visit the other stores in the shopping center.

They just got approved to open a non-drive-thru restaurant in Lake Oswego, Oregon in an old Stanford's restaurant. Also, they are trying to take over an old strip club in East Portland by Mall 205 as a non-drive-thru location.
