Jacksons- Free items

Post by storewanderer »

With Jacksons app loyalty:

7/3 Free Snickers (standard)
7/4 Free M&Ms (standard size appears to be any variety)
7/5 Free Twix (standard)
7/6 Free Orbit Gum 14 or 15 size

Also .99 20oz Icee or 30oz Fountain Drink (with loyalty app) plus free 1 banana with drink purchase.

So basically can go claim candy, drink, and banana for .99.

I wonder if it will work at the Chevron Extra Mile run by Jackson's in the San Francisco Bay Area. It used to be a Speedway Express.

Yes, it will work at those. Those aren't really Extra Miles, they are just Jacksons with a sign out front that says Extra Mile. The rewards program of Jacksons is called Let's Go Rewards. The app seems to be mandatory to sign up but if you link a phone number to the account you can delete the app.

I went to the Chevron Extra Mile in Martinez, California, and it was a Jacksons in almost every way. The door had a welcome to Jackson's decal on the door. The signs promoted the Jacksons app and rewards. In-store radio ads referred to the store as Jacksons.

I found Jacksons cups and Darigold Dairy products. The employee was wearing an Extra Mile polo shirt. The pin pad let you choose Jacksons Rewards or Safeway Gas Rewards.

It was a small convenience store, but it certainly was well stocked with various items that I had never seen at any Chevron Extra Mile.

Jacksons runs its own convenience food wholesale operation. They must be sending a truck to supply those few bay area stores they bought from Speedway. Quite a trek from Idaho.

It is interesting around Reno a number of unbranded gas stations who do not buy fuel from Jacksons, have started to use that product distribution company it owns. Most were previously with Coremark.

The convenience store items seem much better than Coremark.

Coremark offers the same basic items but in many c-stores they really just push candy and snacks and very limited other items. Jacksons especially in their own stores squeezes in a tiny assortment of everything including limited dry grocery.

Years ago Jacksons would actually run "promotions" on grocery items like 2 boxes of cereal for $5. It wasn't a bad deal at the time but I always found it odd how they did that. Clearly just trying to move inventory.

They were running .99 loaves of 20oz white or wheat bread for years (Franz "Western Farms" generic) then around 2021 went to a 2 for $2 or 1.29 each price point but I think now they are at a 2.29 or 2 for $4 price point.

For a while they were trying to run gallons of Darigold milk at very low prices below the grocery stores, but that seems to have stopped, I think they are at 3.99 on those currently here which is similar to most grocery stores.

Another string of free items with app this weekend.

8/30 Free Skittles (red or purple)
8/31 Free M&MS Plain
9/1 Free Twix
9/2 Free M&MS Peanut

Also there is an offer buy fountain drink get free Twix or Snickers. It isn't clear if that is combinable with the above.

I assume the free banana with fountain drink and .99 30oz fountain drink are also still in effect.

Checked this.

The cheapest fountain drink appears to be 1.49 now. 20oz.

So if you buy this 20oz fountain you get the following free:

Twix or Snickers (for buying fountain)
Banana (for buying fountain)
M&Ms plain (free with app offer no purchase required)
