Arby's

Post by storewanderer »

Arbys is all but gone from Reno, now. Two more locations closed in the last week. That leaves Reno with one Arbys.

Arby's has always been weak.

They aren't very good at making food. Nothing at their restaurants attracts people. It is simply mediocre food and they are losing out to well known national chains such as McDonald's and even Subway.

People are into the $5 footlongs and healthier sounding items at Subway. McDonald's is sort of the big name that people seem to trust.

However, Arby's is simply out of touch. Have you even seen their awful commercials these days? "Good Mood Food..." This is a case where the commercials are so bad that you just don't want to be seen at an Arby's. The only fast food chain that repulses people even more is Quiznos. That is one company that does not know how to make a commercial.

The previous owners of Arby's knew what they were doing when they bought Wendy's. They bought Wendy's, stole the well known name and then sold the awful Arby's chain.

Arby's is a chain which can be hit or miss depending on the location. Some of their products like their chicken sandwiches are not bad. However, their roast beef sandwiches do not have good quality control...sometimes they are fresh and hot, sometimes you can tell that they are not fresh. I have even noticed differences in things like bread quality and the taste of fries from one location to the next. One thing I have also noticed is that Arby's, at least at locations on Oregon/Southwest Washington, is that they tend to move into older buildings and their age really shows. A lot of them in this area are former Arctic Circle locations which have the restroom located outside, in the rear, and have had minimal remodeling over the years.

Arby's, if they could somehow improve their food quality and invest in some remodeling/replacement of their older locations, could have a desirable alternative to many of the fast food options out there.
