Re: Official: Red Lobster files Chapter 11

It has nothing to do with the shrimp. Ridiculous media interpretation trying to distract from the real issue the private equity rape of the chain. Must have assigned the politics reporters to this story. Tying up contracts has a lot to do with these things, in this case, Red Lobster's majority owne...

Re: Mcdonald's Free Nuggets & No Refills

No purchase required was a great deal. The nuggets seem to have shrunk in size and are not as thick as they used to be. They were also weirdly shaped, not oval or round as they used to be. The 3.29 asking price for 6 pieces is too much. I can still go to Wendys and get a 4 for 4 meal that has 4 nugg...

Re: Pocatello, Ida. Pine Ridge "Mall" bought by Simon

I was thinking there is no way the large Simon Mall group would possibly touch that mall... that mall was nice when the anchors were filled but the reality is its size - it was just flat out overbuilt for the area. ((shrug)) It killed off two smaller malls in the city (Pocatello Mall, today where F...

Re: Target Lowers Prices on 5,000 Items for the Summer

I looked up a lot of items on Target.com that I have bought the past couple months and nothing has decreased in price. Food, pet, etc. At least the prices are the SAME as what I paid and haven't gone up- which IS a positive since the grocers are posing tons of rather large price increases storewide ...

Re: Wal Mart Remove Self Checkouts

The self checkout removal project continues at this Kietzke Wal Mart in Reno. The large area of self checkouts around the grocery side of the store has been unwired and is being taken apart and will be physically removed within a day or two. They still have about 10 belted self checkouts open. One o...

Re: Self Check Outs

The Ralphs I suspect was a store program that was not corporate authorized as signs were store made. But the Albertsons was definitely a corporate sign package for the self checkout. It was the pair type back to back, and the back units facing the Starbucks were closed. The two open ones faced the ...

Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California

Smiths used to hire 14 and 15 year olds pre-Kroger, and there were very limited rules on when they could work and what tasks they could perform. It worked somewhat well since the 4 PM to 7 PM period was the busy time for stores on weeknights and you could schedule them during those hours to bag and ...

Re: Rite Aid closing at least 63 stores

I wonder where the line is drawn for Rite Aid as "NorCal." Let's just go with Stockton and San Jose north. If you draw the line there and include Stockton and San Jose, it appears NorCal has about 80 stores left. This is not an insignificant number of stores. If you take the line down not ...

Re: 99 CENT ONLY closing

The still open stores are now listed:

https://shopgenius.com/99-cents-only-stores/

All close Sunday as mentioned above.

Texas seems to still have the highest percentage of its stores open.

Not much left in AZ, NV, or NorCal.

Re: New Albertsons Interior Southern California

They can work 14 and 15 year olds very limited hours in some places, not sure about CA. Task limited too. Basically bagging, cleaning off counters... could probably assign them carts but wouldn't personally.
