Docket 694- Dollar Tree purchases hundreds of leases and all intellectual property This docket has 112 leases and all intellectual property. The 112 leases in Docket 694- it says Dollar Tree agreed to purchase "shelving" in those stores for $1,724,767. It appears they are paying $115,000 ...

Re: Official: Red Lobster files Chapter 11
Darden strikes me as a strong operator and I was always concerned what would happen once they divested Red Lobster. And here we are... I think losing the Darden "efficiencies" greatly hurt Red Lobster. But I am confident Darden is better off without Red Lobster, than they would be had they...

Re: Fashion Valley San Diego JCPenney to be booted for apartments
I do wonder however would apartments connected to a mall be more appealing than some of these freestanding type complexes? There are a lot of developers out there pushing this work-live-play concept. All in one place- no car needed. I don't really jive with this idea. But if you look at how a lot of...

Re: Target Lowers Prices on 5,000 Items for the Summer
Target threw another "food and grocery" $5 off $30 coupon. Their food pricing is terrible and I actually see what seem like price increases this week compared to last week... Using the coupon got their prices about down to Wal Mart levels, at best, but I think I still ended up paying more ...

Re: Walmart Neighborhood Market Opening Larger Stores
Already one this size in Rocklin, CA; former Albertsons unit. It is a nice Neighborhood Market but doesn't have much business. Still retains a lot of the Albertsons mid 90's layout. Deli, dairy, frozen, and pharmacy are in the proper Albertsons position (Albertsons didn't have a pharmacy but Wal Mar...

I think Food Lion has cheap leases and tight expense controls in its operation. Customers don't expect much of Food Lion but it seems to be delivering on a promise of fresh (.. not having much out on perimeter it does seem to be fresh, yes), fast (I agree), and friendly (... maybe). I see it as a po...

Re: Fashion Valley San Diego JCPenney to be booted for apartments
How is the public transit in the FV area? Is the mall itself a hub? The main mall in Reno also a Simon mall with JCP has a semi "hub" for the Reno bus system (which hardly anyone rides) and I've always thought it may be a good spot for apartments if any anchor spaces vacate. The parking lo...

Re: Mcdonald's Free Nuggets & No Refills
No purchase required was a great deal. The nuggets seem to have shrunk in size and are not as thick as they used to be. They were also weirdly shaped, not oval or round as they used to be. The 3.29 asking price for 6 pieces is too much. I can still go to Wendys and get a 4 for 4 meal that has 4 nug...

Re: Self Check Outs
I'd love to see this RFID checkout. I think the consumer has stopped tolerating lines for checkout. COVID did it to people. I don't think we are going back. The amount of abandoned carts and left behind items I see in stores that have checkout line issues is significant. The number of people who com...
