Re: Sears Fears: The Final Days of Sears & Kmart, 2019

Target's format is not geared toward small towns. Limited hardlines, no garden center, overly trendy clothing where basic clothing is more in demand, combined with Target's marketing approach are all not really a great fit with small towns. This is why Target struggles even in medium sized markets ...

Re: Signs of trouble at Target?

Here's an example of current (non TV) marketing by Target. Taking popular(with both gelnders) comedian Haddish and pairing her with "hot wings guy" (very popular YouTube channel with both genders), this is a trip through a former City Target for date night. At first I thought it was Portland but app...

Re: Kroger "big announcement coming" on branding

Courtesy The Dallas Morning News In July, Kroger hired its first creative advertising agency, DDB New York. Re: JCPenney remodels store into new concept

A barber shop? That could be good as more malls seem to have changes in the salon/service departments both at anchor and in-line stores. I think the new Penney's sign is beautiful, personally. Their weekly ad is also now included in the bulk mail delivery on Tuesdays (alongside week in week out Rite ...

Costco vertical integration: rotisserie chicken

Interesting read from CNN Business about Costco starting its own operations from birth to serving of rotisserie chicken. Costco 5 Dollar Chicken At a Cost One thing I was curious about, the article does not mention Foster Farms in these large chicken companies. Currently the birds "out here" come fr...
