Re: 7 Fresh & Easys to close in PHX
I would say the same about what they have left in NorCal and Fresno. So few stores, why even bother? Well in the bay area the reason they'll bother is because a lot of those are very good performers... I suppose I just answered my own question.

Re: Fresh & Easy sold
I wonder who is taking the unopened stores. We know the excess equipment from warehouses in NorCal and SoCal has been auctioned off. I would not be expecting much new store growth from them. Still it is nice to see they will continue operating. I did get to like a number of products I tried from the...

Re: Albertsons buying United Texas
United Texas, I have only ever been to one store, in Wichita Falls. It was a nice store, layout and fresh areas quite a copy of a Wegmans, though not executed like Wegmans, still well executed. I thought their pricing was just okay and service levels seemed ample. It is interesting to see them do th...

Mountain View Lucky closing?
It seems the space has been in marketing and TJ Maxx wants the space (and some surrounding spaces). I wonder how many other Save Mart owned stores are in marketing by landlords and will just shutter when another tenant wants the space. Given that this Mountain View Store did pretty well, I am kind o...

That also sounds like it means the end for that deli next to it.

Re: Safeway Lifestyle Interior Changes
Save Mart has improved its drug mix in the past year or so. Or maybe they are just restocking better. They are also reducing shelving (shortening aisles in length and height). Their drug pricing seems just as bad if not worse than Safeway due to lack of sale/promotion. Their prices on drug items are...

Re: New Bristol Farms Inside of Former Albertsons
I've tried various fresh items at the San Francisco Bristol with mixed results. Cupcakes, pumpkin cake, and carrot cake were pretty good but for what I paid, I would have expected better. Deli foods are all over the screen, again, for what I paid... I would have expected better. They seem to have so...

Re: Lucky closing San Ramon,CA
The sad part is when I look at packaged goods at Whole Foods, they are priced far lower than Safeway, Raleys, and Save Mart on like items (mostly bottled waters, seltzers, teas, boxed teas, nutrition bars, some canned items) and a dime or 20 cents above Smiths price. In mid-South Reno, most of the r...
