This is a tough one, because I think historically Apple had way too much staffing at their stores. Some of these stores were so packed with employees and customers that they were uncomfortable. Some of these little stores had at least 50 employees on the sales floor. It is obvious that Apple has reduced the staffing levels but still runs far more staffing than any electronics store (or really any mall type store period). But I have heard that employees are very angry about the reduced staffing and increasing workload that brings. I personally think this might be a rare case where less staffing is better for the customer experience, and I have heard some Apple retail employees would do very little work until changes were made. Apple set a bad precedent for their employees by packing so many employees into these stores.
