"Pacific Coast" brand and Save Mart

Post by storewanderer »

This "Pacific Coast" brand first appeared on coffee at Save Mart.

But lately it has appeared on some random items, like french bread, salad mix, and now it is appearing on 5 pound bags of Potatoes with a big "Idaho" logo on the package. Pacific Coast and Idaho?

Where are they going with this brand? At first I thought it was a premium quality label of some kind. Now I don't know.

Also there is nothing special about these potatoes at all despite being marked as premium. They were the same size as the small 5 pound bags of "Eagle Eye" Potatoes also on the display. The price was 1.97 sale price and 3.49 regular price.

Incidently Smiths has these same "Eagle Eye" potatoes as Save Mart has, but at a regular price of 1.09 per bag. What the heck are Save Mart's prices so high for?
