Interesting, I guess Burkle is finally fed up.

Too bad this was not done long time ago.

One of the articles I read seemed to suggest they will be doing something different with the stores that are retained. I wonder if they will convert all to Wild Oats banner or maybe use the new fresh format being tested in Las Vegas.

According to what I've heard, they want to do an order online, pick up in store type concept, and something similar to Las Vegas

Their stores in Vegas still have no business...since the remodels. The location I shop at when I visit Las Vegas is even closing (Tropicana & Jones). They are a joke. This company will be out of business a year from now...when they'll still be trying out multiple formats that will never work.

I feel like the quality of the chain has declined since Tesco left. Prices have escalated considerably. The variety and quality of prepared items seems to have declined. Many items were bland and it seems the few that had flavor have been discontinued. Produce may be a little better now but not much.

The fresh food format they are trying in Las Vegas looks like a great idea but is it right in these locations? It looks like the right format in a high density urban area near a lot of offices, retail, and such. I'm not sure they have the right locations for this behind drugstores and gas stations.

A little surprised to see ALL of the Fresno locations closing. One of those also used to be a very busy store.

The Vacaville store which used to be pretty busy (it was kept after they left Sacramento for a reason) has lost the majority of its business primarily to a new Wal Mart Neighborhood Market across the street.

The Fresh & Easy in my city posted a sign that they are closing and changed their store hours to 8 AM-8 PM. It used to be 6AM to Midnight.

The prices were so awful that the stores never had any business at night. It was useless to even be open that late. I admit that they have 1 type of baked in store cookie that I actually liked. Other than that, you could get things for much cheaper at the Safeway down the street.

I don't know what will take the place of this store in the future. The location is awful and there is nothing else in the parking lot except for a Sports Basement and a few restaurants.

Originally, the Fresh & Easy was a Rite Aid. That Rite Aid was the closest Pharmacy to a major hospital nearby. It was stupid to close it. The next closest pharmacy is a Walgreens that is going to close pretty soon for a total rebuild.
